The Washington Capitals Under Dale HunterScore: 126December 31, 2011 4:42 pm
The Washington Capitals have not been able to turn their season around under new head coach Dale Hunter. The Caps problems seem to be deeper then a head coach. Dale Hunter can not seem to motivate this group of players any better then previous coach Bruce Boudreau. The players do not skate with emotion. Owner Ted Leonsis is already starting to lose faith in new coach Dale Hunter and the team. If they can not turn around the team soon heads may roll again. This team may be blown up after this year if things dont turn around. Category: NHL Tags: capitals, Dale Hunter

Curious what people's thoughts on who would make it to a team only comprised of Ravens and Redskins players. Shoe-ins as far as I'm concerned include: Ray Lewis Ed Reed Ray Rice Haloti Ngata Derrick Mason Terrell Suggs Sam Koch Brian Orakpo Albert Haynesworth Santana Moss Cooley (when healthy) London Fletcher And I'm assuming Flacco would start, but I'm open to arguments against that, as well as Oher/Gaither leading the OT groups. Not as familiar with the Skins roster as I am with the Ravens, for obvious reasons, what do you all think? Category: NFL A 'Skins fans early Christmas gift or not?Score: 69December 17, 2009 11:04 pm
I know a lot of Redskins fans that think they got an early Christmas gift today when they heard that Vinny Cerrato had "resigned" and Dan Snyder had hired Bruce Allen to replace him. I for one am not sure what to think. I am one of the people that believes that Dan Snyder is the root of the problem. We have seen in his tenure that it does not much matter who the head coach is, who the personel on the field is, or who is in any other position in the organization. AS LONG AS DAN SNYDER IS THE OWNER OF THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS THEY WILL BE ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS IN THE NFL. I am a life long redskins fan and it hurts to say that but with his track record over the past decade how can you really think that they can be good with him pulling all the strings. I hope I am wrong about it. I would like more then anything to see the Redskins return to there winning ways and become a power house in the NFC East again. As for the hiring of Bruce Allen, I'm not sure what to think. He does not have a history of being a personel man. I hope he is not just another puppet of Snyders. I would like to know what other Skins fans think about this. Category: NFL Capitals dominate struggling FlyersScore: 196December 6, 2009 12:58 pm
The Capitals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead last night when Tomas Fleischmann knocked in a rebound in the first minute of the game. At 12:06 in the first the Flyers Mika Pyorala grabed a rebound and put it in the net beating J. Theodore. Knoting the game up at 1-1. It all went down hill from there for Philadelphia. The Flyers Daniel Carcillo landed a punch to Matt Bradley in the face which ended Bradleys night and gave the Capitals a 9 minute power play. With that power play they would score 3 goals. T. Fleischmann, M. Green took advantage of the power play in the first period. The Caps lead 3-1 after one. The power play continued into the second period where Brooks Laich would score in :36. The Caps up 4-1. Chris Clark, Nicklas Backstrom, and Mike Green would also score in the second period. The Flyers on the other hand were shut put in the 2nd period. ANd trailed the Capitals 7-1 going into the 3rd. The 3rd period would see both team a goal Scott Hartnell for the Flyers and Dave Steckel for the Capitals. The Capitals dominated the Flyers with the final 8-2. And the did it with Alexander Ovechkin on the bench serving the 2nd game of his 2 game suspension. The Washington Capitals are showing that they have depth and can win with many different lines one the ice. Then you have Jose Theodor and Semyon Varlamov both playing extremly will in the net. This Washington Capitals team is for real. I would say the hands one favorite in this early season to win it all and bring the Stanley Cup to Washington DC.

The Washington Capitals dominated the Florida Panthers tonight by a final of 6-2. With the 2 Panther goals coming late in the 3rd period. The Capitals were able to dominate without there superstar Alex Ovechkin who is serving his 2 game suspension for a knee to knee blow the other night. They were lead by A. Semin who scored 2 goals and had 2 assists. And S. Varlamov was on his game in the net tonight, minis the two late goals. He saved 26 out of 28 shots on goal for a save % of .929. The Capitals have also dominated the Southeast Division and are now the only team yet to loss in there division. In my opinion the Capitals are emerging as one of the top teams in the NHL.
